Hunting for treasures is known to be a very dangerous and thrilling experience for people. This OSRS Desert Treasure quest is one of the most adventurous in Old School Runescape. A lot of players start this OSRS Desert Treasure quest to take the Ice Barrage spell from it.
OSRS Desert Treasure quest is filled with difficult bosses who are trying to kill you in different ways. Each boss has unique fight mechanics that heavily favor certain combat styles, including immunity to specific spells. Each boss can be beaten with a Cannon but you will need to use 500 or more cannonballs to achieve your goal.
Dangers of The OSRS Desert Treasure Quest
During the quest, if you’re carrying one or more of the diamonds, you may be attacked by a level 95 Stranger who appears next to you and carries a poisoned dragon dagger. This is random and does not happen to everyone, but to be safe, take a teleport and anti-poison in your inventory when moving the diamonds.
You need to have some prayer points remaining until you finish the quest. That way you can flee from the level 95 Stranger when he appears. If you do not wish to fight him, and simple banking the diamonds will prevent him from appearing further, although he can appear the second you get a diamond.

Enchanting The Mirrors
To begin this quest you must go to the Shantay Pass south of Al-Kharid, and then travel west via flying carpet or running until you reach the Bedabin Camp. Talk to the archaeologist near the small water pool, and he’ll give you some etchings to bring to Terry Balando, the archaeological expert, at the Digsite Exam Centre.
You can use the digsite teleport to go there, but we don’t have it just use a teleport to Varrock. Talk to the expert in the Exam Centre and he’ll take the etchings. Talk to him again to take the translation. Next, you need to return to the archeologist in Bedabin Camp and give him the book.
When you speak with him choose the Don’t read book option, then talk to him again and agree to help. Go south to the Bandit Camp, this is a multi combat area and all the bandits inside will attack you if you are wearing anything related to Saradomin or Zamorak. Make sure that you don’t have that type of item equipped.
Talk to the bartender and buy a drink for 650 coins, speak with him again, and find out about the four Diamonds of Azzanadra. You must complete this step before talking to Eblis, or the option to talk with him about the diamonds won’t appear. Run to the eastern building of the camp and talk to Eblis.
Ask him of the four diamonds, and he’ll tell you that he needs various items to create some scrying glasses. You should already have all 6 items in your inventory, so just use them on him in any order you like. The items are 12 Magic logs, 6 Molten glass, 6 Steel bars, Ashes, Charcoal, Blood rune, and Bones.
If you did not bring them with you, go back to the bank and withdraw or collect necessary items, then return to Eblis. Talk to him again after you give him the items and he will make the mirrors. Next, you need to run southeast and Eblis will meet you on top of a hill, shown as a grey circle on the minimap, surrounded by six mirrors.
Speak with him and you will see that the mirrors aren’t perfect, and only show where the diamonds have been at one point in time. Two of the mirrors show other locations, the Bedabin Camp, and the Jaldraocht Pyramid itself, which you need to acquire the diamonds from the other locations first in order to enter.
Smoke Diamond (OSRS Desert Treasure)
To get to the smoke diamond simply run east to the dungeon on the map next to Pollnivneach. Some necessary items for this part of the quest are face or gasmask, tinderbox, 4 energy, or 1 stamina potion and it’s important to have your ice gloves in your inventory.
Once you have made it to the Smoke dungeon equip your gasmask/facemask and climb down the well. In each of the four corners of this dungeon, there are torches that you need to light using your tinderbox.
These torches will burn out if you take too long, so you need to be fast and use energy potions to maintain run energy. Start with the northeastern torch as it’s the furthest from the chest. You can light all torches in less than two minutes with 1 or 2 doses of a stamina potion.
When all four are lit, go to the center of the dungeon and open the burnt chest to obtain the Warm key (if you die with this key, you do not need to relight the torches, simply return to the chest to reclaim the key).
Then make your way to the east part of the dungeon, and use the key on the gate to face Fareed. But before you open the gate, take the time to prepare yourself for the fight. Equip your ice gloves and magic gear (or whatever gear you have), set up your water spell, and use Protect from Melee.
The boss is using Melee as his main attack style, so he should not be able to deal any damage to you. Just check your prayer points from time to time and you should be fine.
Pures without access to protection prayers should bring runes for the Snare spell, luring Fareed around the large room and casting water spells while he’s bound.
You can cast two or three offensive spells while Fareed is still ensnared, but you should cast snare again immediately after Fareed moves again so you don’t get hit.
Note that Fareed is immune to snares for a few seconds after he breaks free, so keeping a few squares distance while waiting to recast is important.
The snares seem to bind Fareed even if the spell splashes, but this might be a bug. When you kill him the Smoke diamond will appear in your inventory. If the diamond is lost, it will reappear in the chamber on the ground, and you don’t need to fight Fareed again.
Blood Diamond (OSRS Desert Treasure)
Don’t forget to deposit your Smoke diamond in the bank, and take the items for this part of the quest. You need a silver bar, spice (garlic), pestle and mortar. Teleport to Canifis and talk to Malak in the pub, tell him that you’re looking for a diamond.
He’ll agree to give you the diamond if you kill Dessous, and give you a list of items that you need to kill him successfully. Once you’ve agreed, ask him how to kill Dessous. Then go to Draynor Village and enter Morgan’s house (he is located in the house with the quest sign on it) to take some garlic from the cupboard upstairs.
Leave his house and head east to the dungeon sign, open the trapdoor to enter the Draynor Sewers. Run east to the smithing sign and talk to Ruantun, he’ll make you a silver pot. Now you need to go to Port Sarim and travel to Entrana, but make sure that you don’t have any weapons/armour on you.
Then head to the church, and use the silver pot on the High Priest to get it blessed. Go back to Canifis, use your pestle and mortar on the garlic and talk to Malak. He’ll fill the pot with your blood and this will damage you for 5 Hitpoints. Add the garlic powder to the pot along with some spice to prepare for the battle.
This is a good moment to go to the bank and prepare for the boss fight. When you are ready, go east of Canifis and then keep running south until you reach the Graveyard. Then just pour the blood on the tomb and Dessous will appear.
If you die or leave for some reason you will need to get another blessed silver pot filled with blood, garlic, and spices. Also if you make the boss teleport next to you from a long-distance three times he will go back to his grave.
The simplest way that you can defeat this boss is to not use any overhead prayers and use a fence to negate his melee attacks. Just stand behind the fence and he will only use his ranged and magic attacks, which can deal up to ten damage to you.
If you want to use melee attacks against him, you have to use Protect from Melee because he can deal a lot more damage that way. Depending on what overhead prayers you will currently turn on, the boss will switch his attacks accordingly.
You can use his mechanic to avoid taking any damage by switching between Protect from ranged and Melee every 0.6 seconds. This will make the boss switch his attack styles, but he will be not actually attacking you.
After you kill the boss, return to Malak in Canifis to claim the Blood diamond, and deposit it in the bank as quickly as possible to avoid being attacked by the Stranger.
Shadow Diamond (OSRS Desert Treasure)
For this part of the quest, you will need Shantay pass, lockpicks around 200 It’s recommended to bring noted lockpicks to exchange banknotes for items at the general store in Bandit Camp, food, anti-poison, and some coins. Teleport to the Fishing Guild and go west to where there are several moss giants.
Just to the north-west of there, is a fenced area and an NPC called Rasolo walking around this area. Talk to him, and he’ll offer you a ring of visibility if you give him a gilded cross. Then go to the Bandit Camp and head to the general store sign and un note your lockpicks and food.
Next let’s go south of the pub where you can find a circular tent, inside you, will find a secure chest. Use your lockpicks on it until you manage to open it and get a gilded cross.
There are three locks which you must get through, all of which reset themselves if any attempt should fail, and each failure will use up a lockpick and will deal damage. There is also a chance you may be poisoned, so be sure to bring an antipoison potion and a few pieces of food.
Once you successfully open the chest, you will receive the gilded cross and 150 Thieving experience. Then go to the bank to prepare for the boss fight, bring with you magic robs because this boss is weak against magic, weapons, 10 prayer potions, a lot of good food.
Take some runes that you can use for curses, like body runes, earth runes, and water runes. When you’re ready just return to Rasolo and exchange the gilded cross for the ring of visibility. Equip the ring and a ladder will appear to the east of Rasolo in the fenced area.
Climb down the ladder, head east as far as you can, then north as far as you can. Head east, and go south as far as possible at the first option. Go east again. You will see a little cave to the south as you go past. If you run into this, you can recharge Hitpoints and Run energy without using vital supplies.
After this, take the next turn north, then go east, and you will reach Damis’ cave. Beware that the entire dungeon is a multi-combat area, filled with giant skeletons and shadow hounds. They all use melee, so activating Protect from Melee will negate all damage.
Run around a bit in the final area, and he’ll appear. You must have the ring of visibility equipped or he will not appear. Keep the ring equipped for the entire fight. When the boss appears, run to the corner room until you see some bats, first grab the boss and then just cost a curse on a bat or rat.
To become aggressive to you then make the bat/rat stand in between you and Damis. That way you use the rat/bat or giant rat to safe spot Damis, and they will act as a block against his attacks.
Once you have defeated Damis in his second form, he will drop the shadow diamond on the ground.
He will not die and his health will regenerate back up to full, but it is not necessary to fight him again. Pick up the shadow diamond, then run back out the way you came in or teleport out.
The items needed for the Ice diamond are chocolate cake, Spiked boots, iron bar, Trollheim Teleport, 3 super restore potions, prayer potions, good food, and if you are using magic, runes for fire spells.
Make your way to Burthorpe and go to Dustan who lives near the anvil in north-east Burthorpe. Talk with Dustan and ask him to make a pair of spiked boots for you, and you must give him one iron bar and a pair of climbing boots.
Then go to Trollheim, either by following the path used in Troll Stronghold or using the Trollheim Teleport spell. After that run northwest, and follow the path to the Troll child. It should start to snow as you approach the Ice gate and you will see him cry in front of the gate.
Use the chocolate cake on the child and talk to him to learn that his parents are frozen further up the path. Go through the Ice gate and the troll child will tell you that for the next 10 to 15 minutes your stats, as well as run energy, will be drained slowly.
When you have passed the Ice gate use Protect from Melee and you must kill five Ice trolls to make your way to the boss. Once you have killed five trolls at the gate, the cave at the back should open, allowing you to enter and proceed to Kamil.
Turn off auto retaliate and follow the ice path until you have passed all of the wolves up ahead. In the end, you must see an Ice rock next to an empty area, then stand east of the Ice rock between the empty area and the ice wolves that are not able to attack you.
If you don’t have 43 prayers make sure to follow a friend so the wolves can attack him instead of you. It’s now time to fight Kamil. He uses two attacks, a strong melee attack capable of hitting up to 23, and a magic attack similar to Dessous’ which always hits 10.
I recommend you to keep your hp at 12 or above at all times. His magic attack also drains your stats, the easiest way to defeat this boss is to stand next to him while using Protect from Melee. Most of the time he will use his melee which is ineffective, and just tank his magic attacks.
If you want to use a cannon just set it up north of the Ice rock. Use fire spells, for example, bolt or blast, because any other magic is ineffective against Kamil. Once he is dead, you need to follow a very hard-to-see path to the troll parents.
Travel west, then north a little, then east following the path as it loops around until you reach the edge of an ice ledge surrounded by ice formations. If you check the world map, you can see the path you need to take.
Put on your spiked boots and right-click the front of the ledge, then select “use ledge” to climb up. A long ice path will appear, which you must follow to reach the parents. You might fall and take damage as you walk. By using super restore potions to restore your Agility level will help here.
Follow the ice path all the way to the top, then pass through the ice gate. A path will appear after the ice gate as you walk. Continue until you see the troll’s parents encased in ice, attack the cases to free them.
It’s highly advised to bring an extra super restore or two to manage the ice path and to break the parents free from the ice. Otherwise, it’s very hard to break. After freeing the troll parents, they will take you back outside the gate and give you the Ice diamond.
After returning to safety, use the Clan Wars portal to restore all depleted stats without having to drink expensive (super) restore potions. Use option three on the Ring of Dueling to teleport to Clan Wars then run west to the Free-for-all portal.
Go to the bank and take all 4 diamonds, 3 or 4 stamina potions, 1 anti-poison or antidote, food, 2 prayer potions. With all of these items in your inventory, you must weigh less than one kilogram, because if you weigh zero or more you will trigger the traps in the pyramid.
Go to the Pyramid southeast of Eblis, and place one diamond in each of the four obelisks at the outside corners of the pyramid. Each obelisk takes a specific diamond. You should be able to determine the diamond from the appearance of the obelisk, but trial-and-error placement also works.
It is not possible to put a diamond into the wrong obelisk. It is also not possible to take a diamond back out of the obelisk. When all four obelisks are activated, the pyramid will open and can be entered from the top.
Desert heat is not a factor inside the pyramid, but almost all of the interior is dangerous, with level 124 scarab swarms occasionally boiling out of the floor, and level 110 mummies roaming about and spontaneously popping out of sarcophagi. All monsters use only Melee, though the scarab swarms can also poison. Use Protect from Melee when passing them.
The scarab swarms, spontaneous mummies, and traps cannot be detected in advance. The room containing the altar on Level 4, however, is safe. If you get caught by a trap, you will be taken outside to the south side of the pyramid but with no damage done.
Do not click directly to the ladder but keep clicking to your goal as this will reduce the chances of getting caught by traps. Just walk north and re-enter the pyramid to start over.
It is useful to use a strange fruit while inside the pyramid due to the fact that it recovers 30% run energy and cures any kind of poison you may have gotten while inside the pyramid.
Run from the entrance ladder to the Level 2 ladder. This level is the smallest in the area, with the fewest mummies. If possible, flick your prayer and save your run energy. Run from the Level 2 ladder to the Level 3 ladder.
This level is the second smallest in area, with a few more mummies roaming about. This room might have a few traps. Be sure to look out for them. Run from the Level 3 ladder to the Level 4 ladder.
This level is fairly large in area, presenting more of a challenge to players traversing it. A significant number of mummies are roaming about, and there are a vast amount of traps. Run from the Level 3 ladder to the altar room.
This level is quite large in area, with a lot of mummies roaming about everywhere except the altar room. The altar room is separated by a door, do not rely on the minimap to run outside.
Azzanadra (OSRS Desert Treasure)
Speak to Azzanadra, who has lost track of time and believes that the God Wars are still going on. He goes on to talk about some ancient unknown civilizations like Paddewwa, Lassar, and Annakarl.
He is also surprised to see that he cannot hear Zaros in his mind anymore. Azzanadra, finally coming to peace with reality, rewards the adventurer with the Ancient Magicks of Zaros, for their efforts.
Praying at the altar twice after completing the quest will complete a hard task in the Desert area. At quest completion, you will be switched to the Ancient Magicks spellbook.
Make sure you change back to the standard spellbook before you leave (assuming you’d prefer to be on it) by praying at the altar. You can return here at any time (via the back entrance of the pyramid) to swap between the two.
