Farming Guide OSRS : The Ultimate Farming Guide

You want to train your farming skills? Duh, that’s why you are reading this farming guide osrs. Be ready for a big challenge, because farming in OSRS is very hard, especially if you want to reach level 99. Farming OSRS is so difficult that even the experienced players struggle to reach level 99.

In this farming guide OSRS i’m going to show you how to train farming from level 1 to level 99, Very important thing about farming is that you can’t just go train this skill anywhere.

You have certain areas you can train OSRS farming, they are called Farming plots. The type of patch will tell you what kind of crop you can grow there. These farming plots will need to be cleared of weeds with a rake before you can plant in them.

Other useful thing to know is that every tree, herb or plant have seed which need to be sprouted in a plant pot or plan it into plot that has been cleared from weeds.

Tools Needed

  • Spade , used to harvest fully grown crops as well as dig up ones that have died.
  •  Rake , used to clear away weeds from a farming patch.
  •  Secateurs , used to prune diseased leaves from a tree , there is also a magic variation from Fairytale part 1 it’s a quest reward that gives +10% yield when worn.
  •  Trowel
  •  Watering can , used to water allotments or flower patches to prevent disease for one growth cycle.
  •  Seed dibber , used to plant seeds into different farming patches
  • Compost , used to help prevent diseases as well as increase the yield of certain crops. They are three different types of compost Normal, Super and Ultra.

Note: You should almost always be using Ultra compost , main reason for that is reduced the chance of plant dying from 1 to 7. Ultra compost increasing the minimum yields of crops.

Very important thing before start farming is to make sure you have ample teleports. Teleports will help you with faster compilation of your farming run.

Teleports to:  Trollheim, Catherby, Ardougne , Digsite Necklace , Skills Necklace etc.

Farmer OSRS ‘s outfit

The Farmer’s outfit is an experience-boosting set that grants bonus Farming experience when worn. A Farming level of 34 is required to wear any of the pieces, as pieces of the outfit are purchased from the Tithe Farm shop. The outfit costs a total of 400 points to purchase.

Quest:

  1. Goblin General subquest of RFD

  5. My Arm’s Big Adventure
  6. Enlightenment Journey

Introduction to Trees

After your early levels are done now you can move on to Tree Runs. In the beginning i mention that you have certain areas you can train farming.

They are six different locations around OSRS , first is located west of Lumbridge castle ,The Varrock castle courtyard, inside Falador park, south of the Taverley gate, southwest the Tree Gnome Stronghold and inside tier 2 Farming Guild which requires 65 farming.

To plant these patches you will need to have tree sapling. The tree sapling is made by taking tree seed and putting it into a plant pot that has been filled with soil. Then you need to water it with watering can or humidify spell and wait. The water seeds will turn into saplings on the next farming tick.

Now the sapling are ready to be planted for this process you should use Ultra compost on all plants when planting them. When you use Ultra compost there is 1/10 chance of being diseased during growth cycle.

Which means that for every ten trees you plant one of them will diseased, to stop this from happening you have to pay to the nearest farmers to protect your tree. When planting trees, keep in mind that each of them needs a different time to grow.

Different types of trees grow at different times, for example normal trees, grows from three to eight hours. This is why most people do up to two normal tree runs a day, one in the morning and one at night.

When trees stop growing, check their health and see if there is a great decline in experience. Then you can cut the tree yourself and remove the roots or you can pay a farmer who for 200GP will remove it for you.

How do Flowers Work?

Flowers are primarily used to protect crops from disease. A crop in an allotment patch will not be diseased as long as there are fully-grown flowers of the corresponding type in their adjacent flower patch.

When planning an allotment before planting be sure to check which flower protect whatever crop you have growing. If everything is fine and you have planted the right crops with the right flowers to protect them, you will not worry about losing the experience of your crops dying.

Do not forget to use ultra compost to make sure you increase the minimum yield of the allotments.

Optimal Herb Run

Be advised this guide will cover advanced OSRS farming for high level players.

For this herb run guide you need to include 3 bush patches, cactus, and mushroom because from them you can make decent money and I want the farming pet. If you don’t want to do these just skip the first few steps right to the herbs.

First make sure to always clean the herbs while running from patch to patch for free gp and free experience. To make your harvest faster just spam click patches. Use Explorer’s ring to recharge run energy when needed.

Always use teleports first that take up my inventory space: for example you should always use harmony island teleport first because it takes up two invy spots.

For your inventory, make sure to bring crop resurrect and spellbook swap runes if a crop has died. Swap spell books to arceuus to teleport your salve graveyard and harvest mushroom.

Teleport to Rimmington and check bush.

Teleport to champion’s guild using chronicle and check bush.

Teleport to Duel Arena and check cactus.

Teleport ot Kandarin monastery using Ardougne cloak and check bush.

Swap spellbooks and teleport to harmony island and reap herbs.

Teleport to troll stronghold and use shortcuts to patch and reap herbs.

Use Xeric’s talisman teleport to Xeric’s glade run southeast and reap herbs

Use Explorer’s ring to teleport in cabbage and reap herbs.

Ardougne farm teleport or fishing guild teleport then run east and reap herbs.

Use Ectophial teleport to the Ectofuntus outside Port Phasmatys then run west and reap herbs.

           Catherby Teleport and reap herbs.

GP and EXP Info:

To complete one full run it takes around 7 minutes, yield 10k farming experience and yield around 500k in produce.

The cost of the supplies, including each teleport, spell, seed works out to be about 205k.

Thats works out to be 90k farm xp/hr, and 2.5m gp/hr.

If the patches would have died you would have to resurrect them which cost more money and time. I would estimate the average run to be anywhere from 1-2.8m gp/hr depending on crop death, reviving, and how much you gather from each herb patch.

Temporary boosts

farming guide osrs

Planting Spirit Trees are great way that our farming guide osrs suggests – you can get a lot experience boost, however they are not reliable way to train farming because you have to be lucky to get them as a drop.

If you want to plant them the easiest one to get to is the Farming guild which require you to have 85 farming because the Spirit tree patch is in the third tier of the farming guild.

Тhe time it takes to grow Spirit Trees is 64 hours, however, is a big plus that it will give you 19,501 experience. In order to help yourself to get this experience drop you have to protect them which won’t cost you very much.

The locations that you can farm Spirit Trees are at South-east Etceteria , East of Port Sarim, North of Brimhaven, Hosidius and in Farming Guild.
