OSRS Rag and Bone Man

The OSRS Rag and Bone Man quest are a little bit bizarre but you will get over it. The good news is that OSRS Rag and Bone Man quest has no skill or quest requirements. In this quest, you will meet the Odd old man who likes to collect bones, furs, teeth, and similar items for an unknown purpose.

The Odd Old Man

OSRS Rag and Bone Man

To start the OSRS Rag and Bone Man quest you must talk to the Odd old man location east of Varrock and west of Paterdomus temple. The house of the Odd old man is easily recognizable because of the quest sign next to her. So talk to the Odd old man and he will tell you that he needs several bones to complete his collection.

Then talk to him again after getting the list and go through the chat dialogue, where he tells you what bones you have remaining and where to get them individually until he guides you on how to polish the bones in vinegar.

If you do not speak to him and go through the entire dialogue, you will be unable to add bones to the pots of vinegar later on unless you talk to him, so doing this will efficiently save you a trip or two.

Seeking The Bones

Now you need to kill eight different kinds of monsters, but it doesn’t matter in what order you kill them. Before we can continue this guide I will show you the full list of monsters that need to be killed.

Monster list and the bones that you get from them:

  • Giant rat – Giant rat bone
  • Giant bat – Giant bat wing
  • Bear – Bear ribs
  • Ram – Ram skull
  • Unicorn – Unicorn bone
  • Goblin – Goblin skull
  • Big frog – Big frog leg
  • Monkey – Monkey paw

As I said you can kill them in any order you like, but I prefer to start with the most difficult ones first. I’m going to start with killing a Giant Bat, make your way to Camelot and go to Keep Le Faye tower located south of Camelot, and directly east of Sorcerer’s Tower.

Right in front of the tower you will find a couple of bats, kill one and take one giant bat wing. Next, go to Karamja and head west to the forest between the Karamja Volcano dungeon entrance and Musa Point where you will find some monkeys. Kill one of the monkeys and take a monkey paw.

Teleport to Lumbridge and go west to exit through the back door of the Lumbridge castle, then head north until you find a goblin. After you kill the goblin take his goblin skull and teleport to Draynor Village. Go west to the market, if you don’t have a chronicle buy one from Diango’s toy store and take one teleport card.

Then talk to the wine cellar Fortunato and buy from him 8 jugs of vinegar. Pour the vinegar into all your pots and put the three bones that you already have into the pots with vinegar. Once you do that run southeast to the Lumbridge swamp caves entrance, make sure to have a light source and a rope with you.

At the entrance use your rope on it and then climb down, go west, and then south until you reach the big frogs. Kill one and take the big frog leg and now use your chronicle to teleport to the Champions guild. Head east and enter into the sheep pen to kill a ram, take the ram skull, and put it in the pot of vinegar.

After that run east until you see a unicorn or a bear, kill the unicorn to get the unicorn bone, and then kill a bear to get bear ribs. Go north of the mine where you will find one giant rat, kill it, and get a giant rat bone.

This was the last bone that you needed to take so put it in a pot of vinegar as the rest of the bones and head back to the Odd old man.

Polishing The Bones

OSRS Rag and Bone Man

Once you return to the Odd old man, you need to polish the bones, use a log on the pot-boiler next to the Odd Old Man. Then, use a bone in vinegar on the pot boiler, and finally, use your tinderbox to light it. Repeat this for all eight bones and then talk to the Odd Old Man, and give him the polished bones to complete the quest.
